FFVI - Ultros gets an ultra ass whooping!

Long before Nyx & Luna made "Ultros-kabob" in Kingsglaive, we have this. Sabin blasting Ultros with Blitz, but, we all know how that turned out afterwards. Sabin! Take care of yourself! Gee, thanks Brother. The comedy in this game. lol

Recap of the battle. I think I would've had an easier time if I had leveled up just a bit more, but I was in a rush to finish this part of the game before grabbing a bite to eat. Most of the time was spent with Terra & Banon healing Edgar & Sabin. Edgar hitting Ultros with one of his many attacks with tools, Sabin using Blitz whenever he got the chance to. I should've upgraded their weapons & armor too, if only I had the gil, ahhh, to be a gillionaire. 

But anyway, at least I defeated Ultros. Even if it took some time. But I still won. XD

Final Fantasy 6 - Sit down Vargas!

Don't know about you, but I love playing as Sabin because of his Blitz attacks. One of the many things I love about Final Fantasy 6. The gameplay is so amazing in this game. 

After a little hike through Mt. Kolts & collecting a few items along the way we come across Vargas, a rival of Sabin's so to speak. You can read up about him here 

A brief battle of Sabin joining the party but then having Vargas blowing everyone away with one of his attacks, we're left with a 1 on 1 fight between Sabin & Vargas. Will Sabin win? Is Sabin the superior student? Well let's find out. . . .  with a nice Blitz attack named Pummel with Vargas' name on it! 

Thanks to Sabin's fists of steel we take care of Vargas no problem. It seems Vargas had the wrong idea in his head as Sabin remarks after the battle. Looks like Vargas was wrong to be jealous of Sabin. Lust for power always seems to be the wrong road to take.

But now the brothers are reunited! Which is great to see. And now we have a 4 man party ready to take on whatever lies ahead of us. You gotta love Terra's remark about Sabin. lol 

Party is stronger? Check. Rival taken down? Check. Not walking down the road lusting for power? Check! So off we go to the Returner's Hideout. Let's continue our journey! 

Final Fantasy 1 - Putting an end to Chaos **SPOILER ALERT!!!**

Before going any further, if you don't want any spoilers, then you should avoid this post because I am so going to spoil you rotten, not really, but there will be spoilers. hehe. If not, then hey! Read on!

I skipped going into the dungeons or shrines. I got so bored & annoyed going through the Earth shrine. Sure I could have gotten some really cool & great items, especially gear that would given me a much easier time with Chaos, but I just wanted to finish this game A.S.A.P! So I after the 2nd time finishing the Earth Shrine, I decided to move on to the Chaos shrine to give Garland/Chaos an ass whooping!

So here we are my fellow Warriors of Light! End game! And look who's here. Garland. The one dude we mopped the floor with in the beginning of the game. He had quite the interesting story & the way things came about. But I must defeat you & fulfill the prophecy! Cheesy yes I know. haha. 

And here Garland is, transformed into Chaos. And giving the typical evil villain speech. Although deep down inside he knows we're going to kick his ass. On a side note, as a kid watching my older brother & sister play this, I thought Garland was one of the coolest villains I had ever seen at the time. 

Was too busy fighting or should I say healing to take screenshots because this guy hits hard! I don't think my white mage attacked even once. I'd heal then POW! Chaos would wipe away almost half of my HP in one go. As you can see in this screenshot, my warrior got hit so hard he didn't receive most of his HP from being healed. In fact, I think he got felled once & I had to revive him. 

But in the end, not even Chaos can defeat the Warriors of Light. Tough battle, but I sure had fun. I knew I shouldn't have overwritten some of my previous saves because I would've liked to gone back & played through the other shrines besides the Earth shrine. Ah well, I can always start a whole new game when I finish Final Fantasy VI 

In closing, loved the story for this game. And the ending had me paying attention the what happened in the end. Wonderful characters, great story, excellent gameplay of course. NES version finished & now the PSP version of Final Fantasy I is finished. Classic game. Shall we move onto Final Fantasy VI now? Join me on a new adventure! See you guys there. =]

Final Fantasy 1 - A Crown, Astos, A Sleeping Prince & Jolt Powder All Mixed into one!

Arriving here at the Western Keep & look at this lonely King. Tricked by Astos & now his castle lay in ruins. Bring you the crown you ask? Sure, I can bring you the crown. Btw, the music when entering this area is fantastic! One of my favorite tracks for Final Fantasy 1. It's a remix of Castle Cornelia's music which I also happen to love.

If not for the constant random battles, I would've gotten the crown a lot faster. But hey! The bright side of fighting all those battles is I gained a lot of levels & fattened my purse with gil. Anyway, let's take this crown back to the King in the Western Keep.

But alas! I am tricked! By who?! By the King of the dark elves himself, Astos! Well let's go kick his ass then! Shouldn't be much of a problem.

But of course, like he could stand up to the Warriors of Light. Thanks for the crystal eye douchebag. I think you all know who we have to give this crystal eye to. A certain cranky witch who we visited earlier in the game crying about not being able to see a thing. Let's go visit her!

Jolt tonic? Could this be useful? Let's go experiment on someone to "jolt" them awake shall we.

And what do you know! It actually wakes up sleeping beauty. As I said before, if you thought Noctis in FFXV sleeps a lot, this prince was asleep for a 5 years! 

And with the mystic key I can continue my journey. Which is backtracking to a few places & grabbing a key item. Nitro powder! Where am I going to use it? Well now, stayed tuned next time when this adventurer continues his quest to save the world. =]

In closing, I really enjoyed this part of the game. The music when you get to the Western Keep is just so fitting, here is a castle in ruins, everything is just gone. It really is like a darker version of Castle Cornelia. In Elfheim is really cool, you could say it's a shoutout to Link & Legend of Zelda. I mean hell, they all  look like Link. There's even the gravestone with "Here lies Link" on it. My only gripe about this part was going from Elfheim all back to getting the jolt tonic then back again to Elfheim. But at least I can continue on with the adventure.

Final Fantasy 1 - Pirate Ship & Booty!

After getting lost for a bit & running into god knows how many battles, I finally managed to arrive in Pravoka safe & sound. Well after getting some rest at the inn because those battles on the way here, geez, took most of my potions & left me with little MP to heal. But I'm at full strength once again, or am I?

Let's battle this pirate then. . .  and almost lose because you forgot to change your equipment & stock up items! Good job Nyx. lol

In the end I managed to defeat the pirates & I gained a really cool pirate ship to take me from place to place in this fun & adventurous Final Fantasy world.

Lesson learned, the mage can still do some decent damage when you run out of MP to heal. Do it more! But don't expect damage like the monk & fighter does. But hey, at least I defeated them pirates. heh!

Final Fantasy 1 - Princess Saved!

The game that started my Final Fantasy addiction. Well not the PSP version of Final Fantasy 1, I started off with the original NES version which my older brother had played. I was his co-pilot while he played & this game just sucked me right in. The one thing I remember about this game is the thief becoming the ninja which I thought was pretty damn cool. Final Fantasy & ninja! Two of my favorite things as a kid. ^_^;

Back to the game, it's just the beginning of the game so I've only saved Princess Sarah at the King's request. I think Garland defeated me the first time I went to fight him, I was still a bit weak so I spent some time leveling up before challenging him again. Mission accomplished! Now the real story starts.

Xenogears - You Know, That Mech RPG Game

I remember when this game was announced & I was blown away by it because of the mechs! Mech battles (or should I say Gear) is what drawn me to this game. And the battle system was pretty cool too, I liked the combos you could learn for each character to use against your enemies in battle both in a Gear & out of a Gear. The day it was released off to the Wal-mart in downtown Kailua-Kona, Hawaii to buy it. You know how many bags of coffee I had to pick to have the money needed to buy this game. haha.

Pretty much going to be playing this game once I'm done with Final Fantasy VI. Still have a lot to finish up in Final Fantasy VI, it's one of the games I like to take my sweet ol' time with. I have started Xenogears though. Jumping in the well to get the ring took up most of my play time before I had some errands to run. =P

Anyways, this game brings back memories. Good memories. Can't wait to play it again & see Fei & the gang.
